What's in a Skardu package
Most Skardu trips run 4 to 7 days and combine Skardu town — Shangrila, Upper Kachura and Kharpocho Fort — with a Deosai day trip and a heritage valley such as Shigar or Khaplu. Longer itineraries add the Katpana cold desert or a trek toward the Karakoram base camps.
By air vs by road
Flying from Islamabad to Skardu takes about an hour but depends on the weather, so we always build in a buffer day. The road journey along the Karakoram Highway and the Indus gorge takes about two scenic days. Many travellers fly one way and drive the other. How much does a Skardu tour package cost?
Skardu packages are priced for the whole group, not per head. By-road trips start from around PKR 230,000 for a group of four — about PKR 57,500 each — and longer or larger departures run higher. Fly-in trips start from about PKR 104,000 for a couple on a 4-day itinerary. Air tickets are the one part charged per seat: roughly PKR 60,000 return from Islamabad, 72,000 from Lahore and 100,000 from Karachi, confirmed when we book them. The final price depends on your group size, the season, hotel tier and whether you fly or drive.

Safety and permits for Skardu
Skardu and wider Baltistan are very safe and welcoming for tourists, including families, couples and solo travellers. Pakistani nationals need no permit. Foreign nationals travel on their passport; only a handful of restricted zones require extra paperwork, which we arrange in advance. Our guides carry first-aid, monitor weather and altitude, and stay in contact with our base office throughout the trip.

Flights are weather-dependent. If one is cancelled we rebook you on the next available departure. The road route via Chilas is an option we will arrange if you would rather not wait, but it is a seventeen to twenty hour drive and is charged separately.
Most Skardu packages include a 4x4 day trip to Deosai when the plateau is snow-free, usually from around July to September.
April to October is the main season. Summer (June–September) opens Deosai and is warmest; spring and autumn bring clear skies and beautiful colours. Winter is cold and scenic but many high roads close.
The road journey is roughly 17–20 hours along the Karakoram Highway and Indus gorge, usually split over two days with an overnight stop. Flying takes about an hour but depends on the weather.
