How car rental works with us

Every vehicle is rented with a driver — self-drive is not something we offer, and on mountain roads it is not something most visitors want. Rates are per day for the whole vehicle, not per seat, so a couple and a family of five pay the same for the same car. Our fleet currently runs 9 vehicles from PKR 12,000 per day.

The driver, his food and accommodation on multi-day hires, tolls and the vehicle paperwork are included. Fuel is paid as per usage — we quote it that way rather than folding an estimate into the day rate, because fuel for a Deosai day and fuel for an airport run are not the same number, and a flat allowance means one of those two customers pays for the other.

Which vehicle for which road

This is the decision that matters most, and the one people most often get wrong.

• Unpaved routes — Deosai, Basho, jeep tracks. 4x4 only, no exceptions: the Land Cruiser, either Prado or the Revo. Deosai and Basho are subject to weather and road conditions on the day.
• Paved mountain highways — Karakoram Highway, Skardu road, Naran. Any of the SUVs, or a Grand Cabin and Coaster for larger groups.
• City and airport runs. The Corolla or Civic — a 4x4 here is paying for capability nobody uses.
• Fairy Meadows is the exception. No rental vehicle drives it. We take you to Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway, where the local jeep union runs the track up to Tato — that stretch is theirs and no outside vehicle works it. See what the union jeep costs.

Where we pick up

We dispatch from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Skardu, Gilgit, and the filters above let you pick a city. Airport transfers, one-way runs between valleys and full-tour hires all work the same way — tell us the route and the dates rather than the number of days. Renting with or without a tour

A vehicle on its own is priced per day, as above. A vehicle inside a tour package is different — there the trip is quoted for the group as a whole, with the vehicle and the hotels in one figure, and it does not multiply by how many of you travel.
