Flying home for a holiday up North

We run private family tours to Hunza, Skardu and Gilgit-Baltistan for families coming in from Singapore, the Gulf and the UK. Islamabad airport pickup is included, the northern leg is by air rather than an eighteen-hour drive, and the pace is set for a group travelling with parents and children rather than for two people in their twenties.

Do not fly north on the day you land

The domestic flight to Skardu leaves Islamabad early, and Skardu sits at 2,230 m. Arriving off a long-haul flight and boarding another one before dawn is how the first three days of a holiday get spent recovering. We build in a night in Islamabad first. It costs one day out of ten and it is the single piece of advice we give most often to families flying in.

Packages built for a family group

Each is priced as one total for the whole group sharing a private vehicle, not per person. Domestic airfare is quoted separately, because airlines charge per seat.

Why these work for three generations

Fifty minutes, not eighteen hours

The flight to Skardu replaces a full day on the Karakoram Highway. Weather dependent; timings and routing may change according to the airline. If a sector cancels we rebook you on the next departure.

Shorter driving stages

Sightseeing is grouped so nobody sits in a vehicle for six hours. The rough jeep sections, Deosai in particular, are optional rather than built into the route.

Airport pickup at both ends

Islamabad on arrival and Skardu or Gilgit for the domestic leg, both included. Send your flight number on WhatsApp and a driver meets you in arrivals.

Paying from abroad

Bookings are confirmed with a 30% advance to reserve hotels and the vehicle; the remaining 70% is due at least 3 days before departure. Quotes and availability are handled over WhatsApp, usually within 30 minutes.

Questions from families flying in

Yes. Airport pickup and drop at Islamabad is included in these packages, on top of the pickup at Skardu or Gilgit for the domestic leg. Send us your inbound flight number on WhatsApp and a driver meets you in arrivals.

We would rather you did not. Skardu sits at 2,230 m and the domestic flight leaves early. A night in Islamabad first costs one day and makes the following week considerably better, particularly for older parents and small children.

Yes. A 30% advance confirms the booking and the balance is due at least three days before departure. Transfers reach our Meezan Bank account — IBAN PK84MEZN0008090112005514, SWIFT MEZNPKKARWP. We quote and settle in PKR.

Yes, and it is the fastest way to reach us. Save the number in full international format — +92 371 5303587 — and message any time. We usually reply within thirty minutes during Pakistan hours.

On these three itineraries, yes. They are hotel-based rather than camping, the driving is broken into shorter stages, and the rough jeep sections — Deosai in particular — are optional rather than built into the route.

Flights to Skardu and Gilgit are weather dependent; timings and routing may change according to the airline. If the sector cancels we rebook you on the next departure. The road journey is an option we will arrange, but it is seventeen to twenty hours and is charged separately. If you have an onward international connection, tell us before booking and we will suggest a buffer night — that is the cheapest insurance on a trip built around a fixed return flight.
