For the lowest cost with the biggest reward, Hunza (Karimabad, Attabad Lake, Khunjerab), Skardu (Shangrila, Deosai) and Fairy Meadows are unbeatable. Naran-Kaghan and Swat are even cheaper and closer to Islamabad and Lahore, making them ideal short, economical getaways. A popular economical route: Day 1 depart Islamabad by road and overnight at Chilas; Day 2 continue to Hunza or Skardu; Days 3–4 sightseeing — Attabad and Khunjerab in Hunza, or Shangrila and Deosai in Skardu; Day 5 begin the road journey back with an overnight stop; Day 6 arrive home.
