10-Day Skardu & Hunza Tour

Trip Overview

A complete Skardu and Hunza journey designed for travellers who want to experience both regions in one private trip. Explore Kachura Lakes, Sarfaranga Cold Desert, Shigar Valley and Deosai in Baltistan before continuing towards Gilgit and Hunza for historic forts, Attabad Lake, Passu and the spectacular Upper Hunza region. Private transport, selected hotels and daily breakfast are included throughout the journey.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

1. D1

   Islamabad to Chilas

   Early morning departure from Islamabad/Rawalpindi towards the north. Travel through the Hazara region and continue towards Chilas. The route and overnight point may vary according to road and weather conditions.

2. D2

   Chilas to Skardu

   Continue towards Skardu through the spectacular mountain valleys and Indus River route. Visit a suitable Nanga Parbat viewpoint if road and weather conditions allow. Arrival in Skardu and hotel check-in.

3. D3

   Kachura Lakes & Sarfaranga

   Explore Upper Kachura and Lower Kachura Lake, including the famous Shangrila area. Continue to Sarfaranga Cold Desert and enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery.

4. D4

   Shigar Valley

   Visit Shigar Valley, historic Shigar Fort and the surrounding traditional villages. Enjoy the peaceful valley landscapes before returning to Skardu.

5. D5

   Deosai National Park

   Full-day 4x4 excursion to Deosai National Park. Visit the plateau and Sheosar Lake when accessible. Deosai access depends on season, weather and road conditions.

6. D6

   Skardu to Hunza

   Travel from Skardu towards Gilgit and Hunza. This is primarily a scenic transfer day. Continue through the mountain valleys and arrive in Hunza by evening.

7. D7

   Baltit Fort, Altit Fort & Hunza Valley

   Explore the historic Baltit and Altit Fort areas, traditional villages and the beautiful Hunza Valley. Evening at leisure with optional sunset views from Duikar, subject to timing and weather.

8. D8

   Attabad Lake, Passu & Khunjerab

   Drive along the Karakoram Highway towards Upper Hunza. Visit Attabad Lake, Passu Cones and other scenic viewpoints. Continue towards Khunjerab Pass if road, weather, security and permit conditions allow.

9. D9

   Hunza to Chilas

   Begin the return journey south through the Karakoram Highway. Stop at suitable viewpoints along the route and continue towards Chilas for overnight stay.

10. D10

    Chilas to Islamabad

    Continue the journey towards Islamabad/Rawalpindi. Arrival time depends on traffic, road conditions and the selected route.
