Pir Chinasi tour — green ridge-top meadows above Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir

Pir Chinasi Tour

Muzaffarabad's green ridge-top shrine — panoramic Kashmir views and cool meadows.

Published June 18, 2026 Pakistan Travellers Team 5 min read

Pir Chinasi is Muzaffarabad's most beloved viewpoint — a green ridge-top at around 2,900 m crowned by a centuries-old shrine, with sweeping 360° views over Azad Kashmir, the Neelum and Jhelum valleys and, on a clear day, distant snow peaks. Cool, breezy meadows and an easy access road make it a favourite short trip from Muzaffarabad and a natural start to a Neelum Valley journey. Our tours handle transport and the plan.

About Pir Chinasi

Perched about 2,900 m above Muzaffarabad, Pir Chinasi is famous for its ridge-top shrine and its panoramas — green meadows falling away on every side and valleys stretching to the horizon. It is cool even in summer, popular for picnics and sunset, and holds spiritual significance for many visitors.

How to get there

Pir Chinasi is about 30 km and 1.5–2 hours by mountain road from Muzaffarabad, which is roughly 3–4 hours from Islamabad. The final climb is winding, so an experienced driver helps. Our packages include comfortable transport for the whole route.

Best time to visit

Summer (May–September) is ideal — green meadows and cool, clear air with the best views. Winter brings snow and a striking white ridge, though the road can be difficult. Spring and autumn are quiet and pleasant.

  • Travel insurance & air tickets (unless a by-air package)
BUILT AROUND YOU

Most Pir Chinasi trips are fully customised

We rarely sell a fixed, off-the-shelf tour. Instead we build each itinerary around your dates, group size, pace and budget — and confirm hotels based on live availability for your travel window. Your total package cost comes down to just two choices:

1 · Your vehicle

A private 4×4 with a trained mountain driver, sized to your group. For a smooth, comfortable mountain journey we usually recommend the Toyota Prado TZ, though the full range — from sedans to Land Cruisers, Grand Cabins and Coasters — is available depending on your group size.

2 · Your hotel standard

Choose from four tiers — Standard, Executive, Luxury and Premium. Same route, elevated comfort at each step. Premium and 5★ stays such as Shangrila, Broqand other resorts deliver the best locations and views; these raise the total but are worth it for a special trip.
