Best Travel Company in Pakistan
An honest look at how to choose — and where a Gilgit-Baltistan specialist beats a generalist.
Which is the best travel company in Pakistan?
For tours in Gilgit-Baltistan and Northern Pakistan, Pakistan Travellers is a specialist tour operator founded in 2013, headquartered in Rawalpindi with offices in Lahore and in Shigar, Gilgit-Baltistan, plus resident teams in Hunza and Skardu. It runs private 4x4 tours to Hunza, Skardu, Fairy Meadows, Khunjerab Pass and Deosai, with fixed published inclusions and 24/7 WhatsApp support.

- Booking: 30% advance confirms the trip; balance due before departure.
- Best suited to: Hunza, Skardu, Fairy Meadows, Khunjerab, Deosai, Naltar.
"Best" depends entirely on where you are going. Pakistan is a big country with wildly different travel regions, and the operator who is excellent at Karakoram road trips is rarely the right choice for a Balochistan coastal expedition. The useful question is not which company is best overall — it is which company is best for your route.
This page explains the six criteria that actually separate a real tour operator from a reseller, so you can judge any company — including ours — on evidence rather than marketing.
The six criteria that matter
1. Are they an operator, or a reseller?
Many companies advertising Hunza and Skardu tours from Lahore or Karachi do not run those trips themselves — they sell the package and subcontract the driving, guiding and hotels to a local operator. That adds a margin and, more importantly, removes accountability when something goes wrong at 3,000 metres. Ask directly: whose vehicle is it, and who employs the driver?
2. Do they have people on the ground?
Mountain travel changes daily. Landslides close the Karakoram Highway, Babusar and Khunjerab shut with early snow, and a hotel that was excellent last season may have changed hands. An operator with resident teams in Hunza and Skardu knows this first-hand rather than relaying it from an office in Islamabad — and can re-route the same day.
3. Is the vehicle private, and is the driver mountain-experienced?
A shared coach is cheaper and a very different holiday — fixed stops, fixed pace, no detours. More importantly, the roads to Fairy Meadows, Deosai and Naltar demand a driver who has actually driven them. Ask what vehicle you get, whether it is exclusively yours, and how long the driver has worked the northern routes.
4. Are inclusions written down?
The single biggest source of disputes is what was and was not included. A trustworthy quote separates transport, accommodation, meals, tolls, fuel, driver allowance, entry fees and guiding — in writing, before you pay. Vague pricing usually means the gaps get billed to you later.
5. Is the company verifiable?
A physical office address, a landline or business number, a company bank account, published terms and a cancellation policy. If an operator asks for a full advance to a personal account with no written confirmation, walk away — that is the pattern behind almost every travel scam reported in Pakistan.
6. Can you reach them during the trip?
Mobile coverage in the north is patchy but real in most towns. What matters is whether someone answers when your flight is cancelled or a road closes. Round-the-clock contact during a live trip is not a luxury feature — it is the difference between a re-routed day and a ruined holiday.
How Pakistan Travellers measures up
Judged against those six criteria: we operate our own trips rather than reselling them, keep resident teams in Hunza and Skardu, use private 4x4 vehicles with experienced mountain drivers on every departure, publish inclusions per package, run registered offices in Rawalpindi and Lahore with a company account, and stay reachable on WhatsApp throughout your trip. We have been doing this since 2013.
Where we are not the right choice: trips outside the northern belt. We cover Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Swat, Kaghan, Chitral and the Galiyat well. For Sindh, Balochistan or coastal itineraries, a regional operator there will serve you better — and we will say so if you ask.
What we cover
Luxury and family tours, honeymoon itineraries, guided treks, corporate retreats, and fly-in by-air packages for travellers who want to skip the two-day road journey. Every itinerary is customisable — destinations, duration, hotel tier and vehicle adjust to your dates, group size and budget. Vehicles can also be hired standalone with a driver from Islamabad, Rawalpindi or Lahore.
How booking works
Pick a package or send your dates for a custom quote. We reply on WhatsApp — usually within 30 minutes — and confirm availability. Bookings are confirmed with a 30% advance to reserve hotels and the vehicle; the remaining 70% is due at least 3 days before departure. Quotes and availability are handled over WhatsApp, usually within 30 minutes. Every confirmed booking gets a PNR you can track online with the email you booked with.
