Adventure Tours Pakistan
Treks, high passes, jeep safaris and glacier lakes across the Karakoram, Himalaya & Hindu Kush.
What adventure tours are available in Pakistan?
Pakistan holds five 8,000-metre peaks and some of the world's largest glaciers outside the poles. Common adventure trips are the Fairy Meadows trek beneath Nanga Parbat, 4x4 safaris across the Deosai plateau, the drive to Khunjerab Pass at 4,693 m, and full K2 Base Camp expeditions. Pakistan Travellers runs these with mountain guides and planned acclimatisation.
- Fairy Meadows suits fit beginners; K2 Base Camp is a serious multi-week expedition.
- Trekking season is broadly June to September.
- Altitude planning matters more than fitness on most of these routes.
Pakistan is one of the world's great adventure destinations — home to five 8,000-metre peaks, endless glaciers, and passes that top 4,600 metres. Our adventure tours take you into that landscape safely: trekking to Fairy Meadows and the Nanga Parbat base view, jeep safaris across the vast Deosai plateau, the drive to Khunjerab Pass on the China border, and full expeditions toward K2 base camp. Every trip runs with experienced mountain guides, proper acclimatisation and a road-tested safety plan.
Adventure experiences we run
Our signature adventures include the classic trek to Fairy Meadows and Beyal Camp beneath Nanga Parbat; the K2 base camp and Concordia trek — one of the greatest treks on earth; 4x4 jeep safaris across the Deosai National Park; the high-altitude drive to Khunjerab Pass (4,693 m); and glacier and rainbow-lake hikes in Naltar and Rush Lake. We match the challenge to your fitness and experience.
Trekking in the Karakoram and Himalaya
From gentle day hikes to multi-week expeditions, the north has a trek for everyone. Beginners love the 2–3 hour walk into Fairy Meadows; fit trekkers take on Rush Lake (one of the highest alpine lakes in the world) or the demanding K2 base camp route. Our guides carry first-aid and satellite communication, plan acclimatisation properly, and never push a group beyond safe limits.
Jeep safaris and high passes
Not every adventure is on foot. A 4x4 safari across the Deosai plateau — the 'Land of Giants' at over 4,000 m — brings you marmots, wildflowers and the chance of a brown bear. The drive to Khunjerab Pass is the highest paved border crossing in the world, and the Babusar and Shandur passes are unforgettable summer crossings. These are perfect for travellers who want the high country without a long trek.
How fit do I need to be?
It depends on the trip. Jeep safaris and the Fairy Meadows walk suit anyone in reasonable health. Rush Lake and K2 base camp need genuine trekking fitness and prior experience at altitude. Tell us honestly about your fitness and we recommend the right adventure — and build in acclimatisation days so altitude is managed safely.
Best season for adventure tours
Summer (June–September) is prime adventure season — the high passes, Deosai and the trekking routes are all open and the weather is most stable. Spring and autumn suit lower treks and jeep trips. Serious expeditions such as K2 base camp run in the short July–August window. We plan every departure around the safe season for that specific route.
Safety, guides and gear
Adventure travel is only as good as its safety plan. Every trip runs with experienced local guides who know the terrain and the weather, carry first-aid and communication, and monitor each traveller for altitude. We advise exactly what gear to bring, arrange porters and camping equipment for treks, and always keep a contingency plan for weather. Comprehensive travel insurance with mountain-evacuation cover is strongly recommended.

Most Northern Pakistan trips are fully customised
We rarely sell a fixed, off-the-shelf tour. Instead we build each itinerary around your dates, group size, pace and budget — and confirm hotels based on live availability for your travel window. Your total package cost comes down to just two choices:
A private 4×4 with a trained mountain driver, sized to your group. For a smooth, comfortable mountain journey we usually recommend the Toyota Prado TZ, though the full range — from sedans to Land Cruisers, Grand Cabins and Coasters — is available depending on your group size.
Choose from four tiers — Standard, Executive, Luxury and Premium. Same route, elevated comfort at each step. Premium and 5★ stays such as Shangrila, Broqand other resorts deliver the best locations and views; these raise the total but are worth it for a special trip.
