Is it safe to travel to Gilgit Baltistan?

Yes. Gilgit-Baltistan is consistently one of the safest regions in Pakistan, with a very low crime rate and famously hospitable communities. We travel with vetted local drivers and guides on every trip, avoid night driving on high mountain sections, and monitor road and weather conditions daily so we can re-route safely when needed.

What is the best time of year to visit Hunza and Skardu?

Spring (late March–May) brings cherry and apricot blossom to Hunza. Summer (June–August) is peak season with all high passes like Khunjerab and Babusar open. Autumn (late September–October) turns the valleys golden and is our favourite for photography. Winter (December–February) is cold and snowy with fewer crowds — beautiful but limited to hardier travellers, mostly by air to Skardu.

How many days do I need for a Northern Pakistan trip?

For a comfortable Hunza trip by road from Islamabad, plan 6–7 days. Skardu by road needs 7–8 days, or 4–5 days if you fly at least one leg. Combining Hunza and Skardu comfortably takes 10–12 days. Anything under 5 days by road tends to feel rushed because the mountain distances are long.

Yes — every itinerary can be tailored to your exact dates, budget, group size, pace and interests. Most of our bookings are private departures with just your own group, your own vehicle and a dedicated guide. Tell us what you have in mind and we build the trip around you.

How do I book a tour, and how much deposit is required?

Accepted Answer

Pick a package or ask for a custom quote, then confirm your dates with us on WhatsApp. A 30% deposit secures your booking, vehicles and hotel rooms, with the balance due 7 days before departure. You receive a written confirmation and a receipt for every payment.

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept bank transfer, and other methods where noted at the time of booking. You will always receive a confirmation and a receipt. We never ask for payment to personal accounts without a written booking confirmation from our team.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancel more than 14 days before departure for a full refund (less any non-recoverable third-party costs). 7–14 days before, 50% is refundable. Within 7 days there is no refund unless we can re-book your reserved services. Full details are on our Terms & Conditions page.

What is included in the tour price?

Accepted Answer

Typically accommodation, private transport with driver, breakfast and dinner, a guide, and any entry tickets named in the itinerary. Personal expenses, tips, travel insurance, airfare and anything not listed are excluded. Each quote states its exact inclusions.

Do foreign tourists need a permit or NOC for Gilgit-Baltistan?

Accepted Answer

Most parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, including Hunza and Skardu, are open to foreign tourists without a special permit, though passports are registered at check posts. A few sensitive or border zones require an NOC. We advise you in advance based on your exact route and help arrange any documentation needed.

Are your trips suitable for families with children and older travellers?

Yes. Many of our trips are family holidays. We adapt the pace, choose comfortable hotels, and pick vehicles like Grand Cabins or Coasters with room to spread out. For older travellers or young kids we keep daily driving hours reasonable and build in rest and acclimatisation.

How high do the tours go, and should I worry about altitude?

Highlights like Khunjerab Pass reach 4,693 m and the Deosai plains sit above 4,000 m. Most people feel nothing worse than mild breathlessness because our itineraries gain height gradually. Stay hydrated, follow your guide's pace, and tell us in advance about any heart, lung or altitude concerns so we can advise.

Can I rent only a vehicle without booking a full tour?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every vehicle in our fleet — from 4x4 Prados and Land Cruisers to Grand Cabins and Coasters — is available standalone with a professional, mountain-experienced driver. You can hire per day with pickup from Islamabad, Rawalpindi or Lahore.

Do you arrange flights to Skardu and Gilgit?

Yes, we book PIA flights (Islamabad–Skardu and Islamabad–Gilgit) as part of your package. These flights are spectacular but weather-dependent and can cancel at short notice, so we always keep a road fallback so you never lose your holiday to a cancelled flight.

Is mobile network and internet available on the trip?

SCOM and, in many towns, Jazz/Zong work across much of Gilgit-Baltistan, and most hotels have Wi-Fi in Hunza and Skardu. Coverage drops on remote sections like Deosai, upper valleys and high passes — which many travellers enjoy as a genuine digital detox.

Do you host solo travellers and female travellers?

Yes. Solo and female travellers are very welcome. We can arrange fully private trips with trusted drivers and guides, recommend women-friendly accommodation, and are happy to connect you with references from past guests before you book.

What should I pack for Northern Pakistan?

Accepted Answer

Layers are key — even summer nights are cool at altitude. Bring a warm jacket, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and sunglasses (strong high-altitude sun), any personal medication, a power bank, and modest clothing that respects local culture.
